KAROLINA HILLER
How did you start your Pilates journey?
I moved to California in 2010, left my tourism job in NYC, and randomly walked into a small Pilates studio in our Newport Beach neighborhood. I immediately fell in love with how Pilates made me feel — strong, long, balanced, and completely connected to my body. Not long after, I started exploring certification options and began my training with Merrithew and John Garey Pilates in Long Beach. That’s where the real journey began.
What do you love about Pilates?
I love the way I feel after every class: that sense of having worked my entire body, challenged myself physically and mentally, and come out feeling strong and centered. Every time I take a class — and I try to go at least twice a week — I leave thinking, “That’s why I fell in love with Pilates.” It never gets old.
What do you love about working at CASA?
CASA has always been a dream for me. It feels like my third baby — a home away from home. I’m incredibly grateful for the talented, inspiring trainers I get to work with; they’re truly my support system. And our clients... they’re simply the best: dedicated, caring, and wonderfully engaged.
I also feel so privileged to meet people from all walks of life — doctors, stay-at-home moms, artists, pro athletes, business professionals — and to get to know them on a deeper level. It’s very interesting, and I learn so much from each person. It really takes a village, and I’m constantly reminded of how much our community shapes and enriches this space.
Our expat community has a special place in my heart. After many years abroad myself, I know how important it is to find spaces where you feel comfortable, understood, and welcomed — where language isn’t a barrier.
It really takes a village, and not a day goes by that I’m not aware of how lucky I am to do something I’m so passionate about: helping people feel good in their bodies and making them feel seen and valued.
